Fantastische Lodge mit super Safari. Man sieht die Big 5. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht und das Essen ist auch gut. Es hat sogar ein Pool, aber leider hat das Wetter nicht so mitgespielt. kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.
Das Thanda Game Reserve ist, auch noch 14 Jahre nach unserem letzten Besuch, der absolut sch?nste Ort, um eine Safari zu machen, an dem wir jemals waren. Wir haben 5 N?chte in der privaten Villa (Royal Thanda Club) mit 6 Personen verbingen dürfen. Service, Reinigung und Küche definitiv das allerbeste was Südafrika zu bieten hat und damit zu Recht ein “Leading Hotels of the World”. Das Essen wurde individuell auf Unvertr?glichkeiten und Vorlieben zubereitet und war geschmacklich IMMER auf h?chster Qualit?t! Wir durften auch viele regionale Produkte verkosten, was sehr interessant war. Für uns einer der sch?nsten Orte der Welt. Bei diesem Preis erwartet man natürlich den Standard, aber was macht Thanda dann besser als andere gute Hotels/Lodges? Die Menschen! Alle Mitarbeiter, welche wir kennen lernen durften, sind super herzlich - und dies nicht aufgesetzt herzlich. Sie wollen eine Safari, die Sie nie vergessen wollen? Unser Guide Amend und sein Tracker Senzeni haben uns unvergessliche Momente beschert. Amend spricht perfektes Englisch und hat ein unfassbares Wissen, insbesondere über Fauna und Flora. Wir durften so viel interessantes von ihm lernen. Wir haben hier nicht nur zwei freundliche Menschen kennengelernt, sondern neue Freunde gefunden. Auf all unseren Safaris über die Jahre (ca. 20 Stück) waren diese Tage mit den beiden - mit sehr gro?em Abstand - der absolute H?hepunkt. Vielen Dank liebes Thanda Team für diese unvergesslichen Momente. Besonders an Amend und Senzeni!!!! Wir waren 3 Tage in unserer eigenen Villa mit Koch und Servicepersonal untergebracht. Es war alles perfekt! Wir waren bereits in sehr vielen exklusiven Safari Lodges in Namibia und Südafrika. Zimmer wundersch?n, Poolarea, Essensbereiche, Gartenanlage, alles mit Liebe eingerichtet. Der Koch hat uns total verw?hnt, alleine das Frühstück hervorragend!!! Auch die Game Drives waren unglaublich sch?n! Natürlich alleine für unsere Familie oder sogar teilweise nur für unsere beiden Jungs. Die 3 Tage waren wie im Paradies! Our first time at Thanda and we loved it . The staff were all wonderful and could not do enough to help. Zeepo and Zee were the best guide and tracker we have ever had on safari . The spa treatments were great and the food , while not fine dining, was really tasty . Really lovely atmosphere and vibe around the place and supportive of the local Zulu communities . We wanted to go back in October but it seems to be fully booked for our dates ??
Absolutely outstanding experience. Romantic, private and the staff is gracious and wonderful. My wife and I spent 4 nights here in early November. The weather was cool and rainy the first day but then it warmed up and was perfect, 70’s and low 80’s. The safaris were uncrowded so you really got a feel for the animal life without being overrun with other tourists. We also did a 3 hour walking safari which was an unforgettable experience. We stayed at the main lodge in a private villa that was incredibly romantic. Highly recommended!!
Arrived at Thanda Game reserve to a warm welcome and refreshing much needed drink. And in time for the evening safari drive. Settled into lodge before setting off. Saw a Cheetah, family of Giraffes, white Rhino and buffalo along with Zebras and many type of antelope/deer. had a refreshment break with mobile bar. And watched sun go down. Up at 5.30 am the following morning for the early morning drive, and much to our delight found a family of Lions, with young Cubs. Buffalo, but no Elephants.. During the late afternoon we found them, amazing. Just amazing. they really are Gentle Giants. The guides, staff and everyone were absolute stars. The lodges were fabulous, the food outstanding, and the tours were incredible. A wonderful end of a fantastic trip. It’s been a Wonderful experience, with fabulous memories made. Love South Africa ( maybe not all the roads as they were testing to say the least) We will be back. It’s a fantastic place.
Outstanding experience, truly a highlight of our trip! The accommodation was amazing felt like luxury but you were still in nature. The tent was very clean and the staff turned over our room daily for day and evening (example tent flaps up during the day for more light and closed at night). Staff were friendly, meals were good, and the evening camp fire was a great way to meet other travelers.
The stand out was the amazing game drives, our driver and guide Taisa and tracker Derek were great and went out of their way to get us the best viewings and ensure animals we wanted to see were a priority. We had the same guide team the entire stay which meant they got to know us and tailor our game drives to what we had already seen.
This surpassed my expectations and I highly recommend.

Amazing lodge ! Every thing is perfect : the welcome, the food, the lodge itself, the game drives, the guide, the tracker and all the staff. We recommand 100% !!
All the staff were extremely friendly. Compared to other lodges we have visited I think they are over-staffed, so you never really engage with them properly. Food was okay and tasty but not wow. Our tent had a wonderful location in the bush, and the bird life was astounding. Unfortunately, there was a cold snap, and the tent was breezy and freezing. We could handle this, but the bathroom was even worse, and the back zip was broken. I feel a balance between rustic and romantic required.
We’ve just returned from a 4 night stay at The Royal Thanda club at Jumeriah Thanda Safari Exceptional quality and service was the order. of the day as is synonymous with the Jumeriah brand. We stayed in the four bedroom villa which was stunning. The service we received from TK, our villa host and Thabane our chef was beyond excellent. It was truly a phenomenal stay. Definitely a 5 star rating for Jumeriah’s Royal Thanda Club The actual game viewing was however disappointing, which is the reason for my overall 4 star rating and not 5. It is largely lacking when compared to reserves like Sabi Sabi but I’m sure with Jumeriah now being in the mix this will change in the coming future. In saying that though we will definitely return regularly just to experience the Jumeriah standard of quality, service and excellence.
