This has to be one of the best places to stay in The old town Dubrovnik. I came with a friend for a long weekend and we stayed in The Cathedral & Garden room. From the moment you walk through the front door and walk up the stairways you feel like you are entering somewhere special and it wasn't a disappointment. The beautiful building has been tastefully decorated with quirky artwork in the piano room and elegant but homely furniture throughout. Beautiful beams and whitewashed walls add a rustic charm to the rooms . Thoughtful consideration has been given to the design as each bedroom has enough room for the cleverly concealed kitchen and an eating area without compromising the very spacious rooms. The beds are huge with quality bedding and very comfortable. The bathrooms are well appointed and the toiletries provided were perfect as we had only travelled with hand luggage which limited what we brought with us. The location is minutes away from the bars, restaurants and harbour. Our hosts kindly arranged for transport from the airport and a lovely lady from Kawa ( a coffee bar and artisan shop also run by our hosts) walked us through the old town to The Byron ensuring we were comfortable and explained how all the mod cons worked. Jon our host kept us updated before our trip with some great information via email which was very much appreciated. If you do visit The Byron take your time to read a framed picture in the hallway. This is "Nelly's Trust" have a look at their website and see the wonderful work that is being done to help stray cats in Dubrovnik and Bol on the island of Brac. Finally we recommend booking a kayaking trip. The views of the old town from the water are amazing and the guides are very entertaining. It's a great way to have some fun and work out at the same time ;)
