Visited today for Sunday lunch. Sadly two members of the party were disappointed. I ordered rosemary and garlic chicken breast as described on the menu but was served a roast of chicken legs which had a couple of sprigs of rosemary in the jus but no taste of garlic. Had I known I would be served this would have ordered something else as dislike this cut of chicken. Pointed this discrepancy out to the waitress who just replied “oh ok . I’ll tell the kitchen”. No further feedback! Someone else ordered the vegan nut roast which he said was more like a large stuffing ball than a roast. Service was ok but no checking that everything was ok. When ordering drinks we were told no draft cider available., just a bottle of fruity cider. Also no oat or soya milk available with coffees. We chose to dine here for a birthday meal but actually wish we had gone elsewhere in Skipton. Setting is lovely but sadly fell down on the basics.

Gave the Curious Fox a go as it was really close to the place we were staying - and we’re so glad we did! Lovely place, quirky decor and an amazing menu. I had the salmon and my partner had the lamb and both dishes were delicious. We also tried out a few of the cocktails on offer, as good as the food. Not the cheapest place but definite worth the extra money for the food and the great service from the staff. The only criticism (and it’s a tiny one) was that it felt a little rushed towards the end, like they wanted to close and get home but it was really quite early. Other than that, a lovely meal and a pleasant evening spent in the restaurant.

We were treated for my Birthday to dine here... When we arrived they were very pleasant... We ordered a bottle of merlot . Food was amazing I must say my lamb was lovely ?? we had starters too. Im a bit annoyed that I felt we were rushed im a slow eater . But felt we were being looked at to take away our first course plates to then deliver our next ... We didnt want a pudding but was trying to drink our bottle of wine quickly as felt they wanted our table. This really made me feel uneasy I did say im trying to drink it as fast as I can ... he said well no it's fine you have 15 minutes left... which we didn't we had half an hour left. I hate to be negative but it did spoil our treat . We did eat a 5pm so not really late at all.

Visited Dec 25th and Dec26th to visit family room OK toiletries poor, considering friends told me its posh here, have visited most establishments in Skipton over last year due to mum been EoL, Bed comfortable, but Breakfast shocking, realised no buffet, ordered coffee , one cup, came with milk, asked for weetabix ( one or two he asked) then asked have you got enough milk in the jug for your cereal, I ordered small orange juice and finally, ordered eggs with ham and hollandaise on sough bread, 3 spots of source, they charged me £12.00 for eggs and ham, £7.00 for small orange juice, £3.00 for coffee, and most shocking £6.50 for x2 weetabix, plus tax (£33.00) all other Skipton establishments give tea, coffee, cereals, juice, toast, yogurts, etc free.... 26th walked to Weatherspoon's for £11.00 and was far better, I will not be stopping here again, shocking prices....

Good points first, staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble, the waitress on when we arrived late afternoon early evening even moved her car so we could park ours, she was even the cleaner the nxt morning when we were going down for brekky, she was lovely and worked very hard, bed was very comfy, we were in room 7 for 2 nights for my birthday and day after treat for me and hubby, 11th and 12th Dec. Now for the not so good points, brekky was good and well cooked, the Granola was homemade and best I have ever had, I even asked for recipe and chef said would give to me but never did, their were no continental bits which all hotels I've been to u have, had to ask for orange juice too. My son and wife drove from the lakes to join us for my birthday dinner which we were disappointed with, we booked their because of the round world menues but we're very limited as xmas menu, the rolled turkey was not to my liking would have preferred the meat as it is normally, the rest of meal was also disappointing and quite expensive. The bedroom was ok apart from 2 things, the bathroom very small and on the little Settee it was covered with a horrible throw rug style which was grubby and looked dirty, I removed it from the sofa as I got a couple of bites on my lower leg whilst sitting on it, that needs to be either washed or thrown out. It's a shame as when I watched 4 in a bed I had high expectations of it, still the staff lovely and a credit to them, but sadly won't be returning.

We stayed at the The Coach House for 3 nights. The breakfast is served at the Curious Fox, which is across the road. What a fantastic place the Curious Fox is. Such beautiful surroundings, the most welcoming and friendliest staff, and truly wonderful food. We liked it so much that as well as the three days we breakfasted there, we also had an evening meal on the Friday and then Sunday lunch. We could not recommend The Curious Fox highly enough and Lee, the owner is a brilliant front of house.

The food was not as good as it used to be. The beef slow cooked apparently was rare in middle it was not very appetising the Mash had a crust and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt. The steak was average no chips.

Coming here for 40 years plus - it was called Oats in the 1980s then it was called Napier and now called the Curious Fox. The breakfasts have always been excellent and that has not changed. The hot water was an issue as there was none - however the current owner assured us it would be rectified by the following morning which thankfully was true. He did say he was going to replace the boiler etc so it would not be an issue going forward! Rooms otherwise comfortable

Wow, the food is outstanding as so are the owners making us feel welcome and very personal! The attention to detail is spectacular. They have made me feel right at home without even knowing me. The cocktail menu has a uniqueness not seen in Skipton. If you are a food lover with a warm, friendly atmosphere then there is no other place to go in Skipton!

Stayed for two nights and had dinner on the Saturday. Absolutely loved it here. The hotel is lovely, very fresh and tasty food and wonderful atmosphere. Skipton itself is a lovely town with fantastic walks, pubs and we loved our trip to the castle. We will definitely be back.
