I stayed in the OQ in Sept 25 with my family of 4 adults. We booked a 2 bed Panoramic sea-view apartment, which was on the 13th floor (out of 26 I think). My views of the hotel and my stay in the OQ, are a little mixed. I give it 3 stars which I know the OQ will not be happy with, but I feel this is fair. Whilst they are striving hard to make this a quality all round experience with some fancy pools and Spas, as a new hotel, they are struggling to get the basics right. And the Pool space is not enough to make this right. I’ll start with the location which is in Lusail, great proximity to the beach (see my pictures) in a quiet area. However, there is ample construction in full-flow all around the hotel, but noise is well-managed and not a big issue. The area was quiet and getting to and from the hotel was simple and easy. It is a little further out than I envisaged and the times I’ve seen stated to areas like the main City, Souq Waqif or the airport can be longer – I’d say 20-25 mins to the Souq and around 30-35 mins to the airport. This is simply what it is, you benefit from a quieter location and great access to a quiet beach – but you are a little further out. The OQ has gone for a real art-deco almost gothic theme, good use of black marble tiling, lights and some quirky sculptures to create a fresh and different hotel to many I have stayed in. However, this will NOT be to everyone’s taste and our group was split down the middle in a love/hate view on this. Many things were fine, the staff were attentive and helpful, decent pools, gym and spas, great and easy access to travel to local areas like Katara and the Palace Mall. Different décor throughout. So why 3 stars, for several reasons. The biggest issues were; 1) I found the rooms and the apartment in general too narrow and the bedrooms and bathrooms too small. The main lounge space and views are great but undoubtedly most people are looking for a larger space when thinking about a 2-bed and this just didn’t have it. If I had known this from the outset I would not have stayed here and this cannot be changed by the hotel – it is what it is. 2) The bedrooms lack hangers – such an easy thing to sort out – but no, not enough, the bathrooms don’t have space to hold two towels, there are not enough hooks, toiletries are replaced daily but only enough for 1 person. One of the bathrooms didn’t have a shower curtain – water went everywhere – easy to sort out, but it isn’t. On one of the days, they didn’t have towels so couldn’t replace those – really simple things like this that just irked. 3) The other big issue was the restaurant. Its just too small for the size of the hotel. To save space there is NO buffet – it’s a menu-based, service menu just like a restaurant. This is great in part as you get a lovely served experience but falls down dramatically when busy and meant you couldn’t just eat quickly and leave – no chance. We were on a half-board and it was the same menu each evening. Very mix

Une semaine passée en compagnie de ma famille dans cet h?tel. Personnel, très sympathique, chambre, confortable et restaurant de qualité. Mention spéciale pour Loubna au restaurant ainsi que l’équipe en cuisine. Ils nous ont fait passer de merveilleuses vacances.

Excelente! O hotel é lindo e muito aconchegante. As acomoda??es dos quartos s?o perfeitas, muito confortável e sempre tudo muito limpo e organizado. Os funcionários sempre muito educados e respeitosos, um elogio em especial para o Victor, que atende na piscina.

Es war soooo toll hier! Wir haben die Osterferien im OQ verbracht, und es war einfach fantastisch.Man wird einfach komplett verw?hnt. Wir hatten ein gro?es Appartement mit Küche und gro?em Balkon im oberen Stockwerk mit Stadtblick.Es ist alles da, was man brauchen k?nnte, sogar eine Waschmaschine mit Trocknerfunktion. Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen, die Betten sind super und es war ruhig. Wir hatten Halbpension und haben es rundum genossen, eigentlich braucht man da zus?tzlich gar nichts mehr zum Essen??Das Frühstück wird im Restaurant Kaia a la Carte serviert, und es bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Man kann auch auf der Terrasse drau?en frühstücken. Es gibt Pancakes, Waffeln, French Toast, Eierspeisen, Porridge, Müsli, Cornflakes, Obstsalat, Chia Pudding, Brotk?rbe und noch alles m?gliche andere.Die Kellner sind total nett und entspannt und bemühen sich sehr, jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Besonders Anjalika hat sich toll um uns gekümmert, Dankesch?n dafür! Das Abendessen wird im gleichen Restaurant serviert. Es gibt eine gro?e Karte, und wir durften uns zum Essen und Trinken bestellen, was wir wollten. Ceasarsalat, Salat aus Mango, Avocado und Shrimps, Linsensuppe, kalte arabische Vorspeisen, Lammkoteletts, Wolfsbarsch, Pizza, Fettuccine, Burger mit Pommes frites, Trüffelrisotto, Biryani Reis haben wir probiert und es war alles super lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Auch die Desserts und die Mocktails waren spitze.Im Restaurant wurden wir besonders von Loubna und Ryhab wunderbar verw?hnt, ein gro?er Dank nochmals??. An das ganze Team, vielen, vielen Dank, ihr habt unseren Urlaub unvergesslich gemacht ????!! Wir kommen wieder??

I had a wonderful stay at The OQ in Lusail. The hotel is brand new, and it truly reflects that with its elegant decoration and high-quality furniture. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the hotel had a pleasant, refreshing scent throughout. The staff were friendly and cooperative, making the stay even more enjoyable.
However, there were a couple of minor inconveniences. The coffee machine in the room was not functioning, and even after the hotel replaced it, it still didn’t work properly. Additionally, the shower drainage was slow, which made it slightly uncomfortable.
Despite these small issues, my overall experience was excellent, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Lusail.
