Had a wonderful time in Barmouth even though the weather was awful. We found The Royal to be most welcoming. The room we had was really lovely, clean and comfortable and of a very high standard. Although we did visit other bars during our visit The Royal came highly recommended for their food. We both ordered lasagne and it was excellent with plenty of cheese. The bar itself was a very friendly place which we thoroughly enjoyed. Most certainly would recommend and will definitely be back one day.

For a good value overnight stay this was just the job. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. They were particularly helpful with ensuring a gluten free breakfast for my wife. Would definitely stay again!

Didnt stay in the hotel but visited the restaurant twice, lovely food, great service friendly and professional. Best steak and Ale pie Ive ever had, it was homemade and fab pastry. Also went in the downstairs bar good music excellent service and banter from our Liverpool friend sorry we didnt get your name ??.

Well from the moment we checked in the staff were very friendly and professional. Room was very spacious and well equipped. Fridge and fan which we didn’t expect and the tea tray didn’t disappoint. We stayed for five nights and even though we were right above the front door noise was expected but not really an issue. You are pre-warned before booking: guests have their own entrance so don’t have to go through bar if don’t want to which was nice. You can choose your breakfast the night before from a tick list but don’t have to: we found it very helpful. Going for breakfast in the morning was a look forward to moment because from the first morning to the last we were greeted with a smile and a laugh from the exceptional team of the chef and especially Brian(Daddy). Paul(Puppy). And banana. We had such a laugh and set us up for the day with a smile: Can’t recommend this place to stay enough. We had a fantastic time there: will definitely be going again. Returned to have a late lunch just before 3pm.Didn't realise they stopped lunches after that. No problem at all they took our order fish chips mushy peas tartare sauce.Also a small salad which was so delicately presented with I think tiny radish.My partner and I returned after having food here the last few years on our hols.He ordered the cheeseboard great selection of cheeses and pickles.Service was prompt happy staff happy customers.Thanks to all the staff great bar too.

Lovely pub with happy hour 4pm till 8pm Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Good friendly atmosphere, food served in the evening, pub classics. The bar staff were very friendly and the cost of the peroni was cheaper than we're used to paying, happy hour made it even cheaper. Really enjoyed the our visit.

The homemade steak pie was the best! So much tender, tasty steak. Hunters Chicken was awesome. Drinks very reasonably priced. A great find. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return. Thank you

Stayed for two nights. Booked two rooms , one for parents and one for ourselves. Both rooms were comfy and pretty much faultless. Yes it is quite noisy until after midnight that's what you expect if you book above a pub in the middle of town. Breakfast is excellent. You can pre order from the tick list the night before however, they tell you that you don't have to. There isn't anything they don't/won't do. Service in the morning is faultless. Will definitely be returning
