Very welcoming staff and overall it was a great place to celebrate our friend’s Birthday whilst we were staying in Braithwaite for the weekend. Fantastic meal, can thoroughly recommend the duo of lamb. My husband had one of the specials…. Venison … which he said was delicious. Only slight criticism is that the room was extremely hot due to a very efficient fire/log burner. Just avoid wearing a thick jumper and you’ll be fine! We will definitely return next time we are staying in the area.

We have been coming to this hotel for 10 years and this was our first stay since the big renovation. We had an excellent 5 days. The rooms are well appointed, very clean, and have comfortable beds. We ate 3 evening meals in the restaurant, each of which were excellent with high quality ingredients, were freshly prepared, and very tasty. The breakfast is a highlight and they will cook you any combination of a full English breakfast, with lots of other hot choices as well, all freshly cooked to order. The service from the staff was excellent and nothing too much trouble. It is a really friendly place to stay. The location is outstanding and the boats on Derwentwater (Keswick Launch) followed by a walk are not to be missed.

Great value for money as ￡99 per night for a twin room & brekkies. Amazing food. The steak & ale pie was the best. And the gravy & veg. Warm & cosy. Lovely re furb. Ideal location as 6 mins from Keswick. Big on site car park. Lovely staff. Would recommend.

This hotel is excellent, a clean, fresh, well decorated hotel. The room was excellent, spotless and with a great decor. The bathroom products were excellent too. The little touches of the warm water washing facilities and towels for dogs at the front of the hotel make a difference too. The restaurant was excellent too, we ate there 2 of our 3 night stay and couldn’t fault one thing. The venison steak was excellent. The hotel staff were excellent too, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend and stay again.

I was drawn to this hotel by the positive Tripadvisor reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We had a lovely deluxe room ( like the one in the picture ) and had dinner too. The food was very good - we were assured it was all made in their kitchen. There is plenty of parking but the car park is on a steep slope and spaces at the top are not good if you have a big car, not much room to manoeuvre. Staff very pleasant and the bar is well stocked, my Hendricks gin came with cucumber in. Lovely views of Skiddaw and Latrigg from the front of the hotel. 10 out of 10.

What a delight The Ruddings is. We had a fantastic meal there last night. Right from the start the staff we very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. The wine list had a good range to choose from. But the star of the show was the food. absolutely delicious. We had prawns which were huge and mushroom with goats cheese. We then had the steak which was beautiful and cooked to our liking. We are already booking our next visit.

Great little hotel. Lovely room with great view of the nearby hills. Friendly staff and the food was really good too. We ate in the restaurant every night of our stay.

I definitely would say this is more than a 3*. The rooms are fabulous. The food is amazing and the staff are probably the friendliest we've met. We would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

For my 18th birthday I wanted to spend a night in the lake District with my best friend and this is where we booked, we went on a long hike during the day and got the the hotel around 7pm and the staff were all so lovely and welcoming, the room was beautiful and immaculate and so was the bathroom. We have never booked anything or gone away alone together before and we were so pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the place was. The views are incredible the food is absolutely fantastic albeit slightly pricey (more so the drinks) but to say how good of a price the rooms are it really didn't matter to us at all. the bed was so comfortable and there was plenty of bits to make ourselves a brew in the morning. Thank you Ruddings hotel for an incredible stay and making our first girls holiday experience feel so luxurious! (and again thank you to the lovely lady who served us during dinner and breakfast who complimented my hair ??)

2 days from 15/10 23 You would be hard pressed to get a better hotel It was one of the best hotels I have been in, in this country. It was excellent.It was extremely clean well run staff lovely could not do enough for us the food was great didn't realise it was a bog friendly hotel that was no problem dogs was treated like royalty( wish we had one) we will be booking again
