We had a disappointing time at the Bear Inn. My husband ordered a vegetarian cabbage dish, and when it arrived it was stone cold and tough. We sent the meal back and it was reheated, by which time my meal had gone cold. We were offered 10 % discount, which we accepted or a free glass of wine. We accepted the discount and the inn only charged us for one glass of wine instead of two. The waiting staff were pleasant and apologetic but this did not repair the disappointment of a wasted and unpleasant meal.

We ate here last Sunday evening We were staying at Greys and this was the nearest place to eat We arrived at 7.15 and the kitchen was closing however the staff were really lovely and poured us wine and did fish and chips for us Nothing was too much trouble Lovely helpful people thank you

We got bought a nights stay here as an early Christmas present. The room was so cosy and clean, couldn’t fault it! The lady at front of house was so friendly and helpful, she really made us feel so welcome! Nothing was to much trouble! Breakfast in the morning was superb and was huge! Parking available free on site and was a nice little 10-15 min walk into bath centre to the Christmas markets. Would highly recommend the bear inn and will definitely be back to stay again soon!

It's our first time in Bath and we popped in for lunch, tired after an exhausting car journey. We were very surprised at the quality of food. The serviettes were of good quality too - not the usual 'tissue' paper. The welcome was very friendly too. BUT the food was amazing. We asked for some water and was asked if we wanted tap, still or sparkling water. We just wanted tap water. When it arrived, it was in a lovely Caraeff with ice cubes, Thank you very much

Sch?ne Unterkunft, praktisch gelegen, da Innenstadt zu Fu? erreichbar ist in ca. 15mins. Badezimmer war sehr sch?n und sauber, rest auch gemütlich aber vielleicht etwas in die Jahre gekommen (vielleicht wirkte es auch nur so durch dicken Teppichboden und schwere Vorh?nge)

Check in and out was easy and efficient. Room was quiet, spacious, comfortable with great decor and amenities.

Room six is superb - not at all what we expected in advance or from the outside! We had a very comfortable night's stay and very good pub food. It is not a cheap option for an overnight stay, but the quality of the accommodation is certainly excellent. The staff were working really hard as the pub/restaurant were both so busy (a great sign!) Unfortunately (for us) we had to rush off without sampling the breakfast. Next time perhaps....

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop off on a motorbike tour of wales . The room was nicely decorated and clean . The owner showed us where to park our motorbikes in a nice secure place . Impressed

Positives and negatives here. Very comfortable bed & spotlessly clean everywhere. Owner welcoming. However we felt everything was done to save money. Very small bath towels, basic hospitality tray. Nicer quality biscuits would have been appreciated, maybe a sachet of hot chocolate? And big fluffy towels. Breakfast was freshly cooked but no fruit, no cereal, one glass of orange & any extras incurred a charge. Packets of jams & marmalade. Owner told us they’re selling up, perhaps they’ve just stopped trying, a shame because it’s not cheap.

Try the Lillies cider. It’s delicious especially the peach one. The rhubarb flavour isn’t great, but lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly. Not bad costs but probably above average.
