We stayed here and had two rooms over the weekend. Good points The staff are great The restaurant and our evening meal was lovely Comfortable bed and clean nice bed linen No noise from the bar/restaurant downstairs. Good shower and toiletries and lovely quality towels The room is quiet despite being on a main road However My room (room 4) was dark and dismal.. Barely any daylight and difficult to see. There is an absolutely dreadful smell in the dark gloomy corridor that leads to the bedrooms. This smell seeps into the bedroom. It was there constantly and has also been mentioned in previous reviews over the past years, so this is definitely not a one/off. The windows (dirty) cannot be opened so no fresh air, only aircon. The furniture is tatty (old, stained and handles missing etc) The walls are damaged and have not been repaired. Tiles missing in the bathroom The room needs a complete make over - it is dated and thoroughly depressing. It certainly is not a boutique style room and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. It would be acceptable for a ￡75 b&b but certainly not at the price I paid for this. Thoroughly disappointing and certainly not like the pictures online.

Arrived at 3pm and was warmly greeted by Sian and shown where to park. Sian showed us where our room was and where to breakfast and the location of the pubs. The room was very clean and fitted out to a high standard. You can see where they have used original features and the whole room oozes quality. Rooms come with a kettle and there is an ironing board, sewing kit, iron if required. Breakfast is a choice of full English, vegetarian or toast served with tea, coffee and juice. Would recommend and stay again.

Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room and tv, wifi and hair dryer supplied. Free private parking. Very central.Breakfast could be better - no cereals or fresh fruit provided, and only one cup of coffee included. Credit cards not accepted for amounts under ￡30. Access to the dining room is outside - so be prepared if it rains!

Arrived Tuesday and blessed with hottest weather so far and thank God for the air-conditioning in the rooms,which are spacious and excellent. Warm,friendly welcome to a lovely Bouquet hotel with a great pub/ restaurant . Lovely food on 1st night, Parked car and bussed into town centre (3stop) ￡2.40 ,well worth it. Great choice on breakfast and dinner menus. Great atmosphere and all staff we met were fantastic and friendly. Thanks for a fantastic stay . We will be back ,loved Bath and loved hotel. Thanks to all

The Bear is our go-to place in Rhayader. There is always a warm welcome from Sian. Our room was comfortable and clean with all necessary facilities available. The Bear is conveniently situated for the village centre but also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. This was followed by a superbly cooked breakfast, I believe courtesy of Gwil. Thanks both.

Just returned from another excellent weekend at the Bear. Close to pubs and restaurants the bear offers comfortable accommodation and an excellent breakfast . On both occasions we stayed to visit the Showground at Builth which is only a short distance away. Well worth a look if you want a warm welcome good breakfast and comfortable accommodation .We will be back. Thanks both.

stayed one night and very nice stay bed was comfy shower worked well plenty of parking space would stay there again only downside is cerial is not on offer for breakfast, my wife almost never has anything cooked for breakfast so was a little dispondent

Have already recommended to friends! Lovely accommodation and a lovely host, only disappointment was that we only stayed 1 night!! Clean, comfortable, plenty of space for a family of 4, great location, great price, can’t fault in anyway. Also very accommodating to our awkward bunch for breakfast (￡10 per person additional) Honestly couldn’t recommend enough!

Dejligt stort v?relse Dejligt stort, rent v?relse og s?dt personale. Bruseren og badekaret fantastisk Maden var fin men ikke mere end det. Lidt langt fra midtbyen, og meget stejl bakke til hotellet. Ikke for d?rlig g?ende. Alt i alt var vi meget glade.
